Task 1 : Research Material
Research
the second site I saw was this site known as 2advanced studios which is a games design and animation company I found this interactive because that something was always moving weather it was the background or foreground its purpose it to show off their work and advertise themselves for business also saying their previous big clients

this is a Photoshop tutorial on refining edges it shows that the edges refined will improve by blurring edges fast without making the whole image difficult to see the refine edges now can be used to be able to cut images a lot easier
Presentations, training materials or interactive touch screen kiosks that provide instant information for exhibition visitors.
[ the 1st movie is a animation called french toast which is about a man who forgets their wallet in a restaurant
as the day goes on he gets in more trouble and stress builds up as the bill increases .I think that this was a interesting animation because he gets so worried when he finds the mask the waiter and mayor i think it is think he is a criminal shows a problem which keeps the viewer want to see the rest of the animation.
750 word essay from my research
Interactivity, sound and motion added
to web pages.
the first site that I looked at was the national marine aquarium I had decided to research the site for this category because of the 360 tour.It seems to keep your interest by letting you look around by dragging the mouse around the screen to view the room but when you stop looking around the room you can click tags which will either tell you a fact about the aquarium , fish or offers they give. The site had a few faults i had seen for example on the tour unless you were on full screen if you had clicked a fact you would need to start the tour again. the site itself also has more use than to inform for example they also sell tickets on-line and arrange parties and events

Single-user games/quizzes for
distribution on interactive learning and testing materials for distribution
over the web or on CD.
this is a game called spent it is a interesting game it uses many real life situations to see if you can live a month with paying bills and living ,including getting a job and a place to live. if you got no money you can do 3 options to survive which are getting a loan stealing for your child and donating plasma as you make decisions it ill also give you facts to do with that option.ate the end it will tell you he money you got.
the reason that i find this game interesting is because the subject of the game is a little dull however it seems to have made it fun by putting the game into fun situations as well as providing facts. the aim of the game is to inform the player to be able to finances better
Software product tutorials.

Presentations, training materials or interactive touch screen kiosks that provide instant information for exhibition visitors.
interactive kiosks are good at providing information by letting you see/play with what it is advertising in many cases it advertises the biggest sellers in the store/location. when they are not being used they show trailers and videos to be able to attract attention of people passing by .
Animation for output to videotape or streaming web movies.

750 word essay from my research
After doing my research I had found that the best form of
informing and interactivity for the future is the internet
I started my research by looking at the aquarium website. Due to
the site had various forms of interactivity. One of which was a 360 degree tour
which was simply a walk around the building explaining what the areas were. And
the site with facts to get the viewer interested in the fish there. They have
videos that are of the fish that are there that may make the person more
interested in looking at the fish and go into the aquarium
Another form of interactivity in a site is to use the
background that always has something going on which will almost
always keep the interest of the viewer this is good because the more
interactivity the site had increased the odds of a potential client. The more
clients that the site can provide the more likely that it would be able
to increase the quality and the popularity of the company
In my research I came across a game that was only about making
decision’s to determine how your life would turn out following the choices you
make in the game this was interesting due to the way how it is
completely user input and from this I had found out that the more outcomes
the more interested the user will become with the form of interactivity.
Then I had researched software tutorials and how they often wok
they work in 1 of two ways one way is to show the viewer how to do it step by
step with screenshots and the other way is to record one person doing the
whole thing and the viewer can stop and play when they come to that point and
continue this classes as interactivity by one person getting involved by
following one person’s examples and following on with it is different to
most forms of interactivity due to most forms
of interactivity because it doesn't require direct
interaction with the user
These are similar to each other because they teach you how to do
things weather
You piece the steps together or watch how it is done if it goes
correct then you learn how to put these skills that you learn together to be
able to make other pieces that are better than the tutorial and as you skills
develop the less likely that tutorials will be needed.
Then I had researched kiosks and information
stalls these have interactivity by letting anyone try out a game for
free these often increase the sales of a game if the person who plays
it enjoys it
In the end I had researched short movies
The first short movie was called French toast which was
about a man who forgets their wallet and starts to panic and just keeps
drinking more and more tea / coffee to keep more time before he has to pay
And from this I found out that short Stories keep the viewer watching
by using curiosity to keep the animation to continue
another was jungle jail a bit similar to French toast with some
aspects but different in others the jungle jail is about a man who is in jail
and he thinks that a bug will make him the strongest person there but it won’t
the aspects that are similar are that they both use emotions to be able to keep
the viewer watching the clip this one uses humour neither real words
however use simple gesture to explain what is happening also
the conclusions will be something simple and humour-us
in conclusion most forms of interactivity do not require
direct interaction but when the
site / form of interactivity looks more appealing it keeps the
user more interested and continue to use the form
Sound is also a useful feature because it will make a person want
to listen to the rest and find out the rest of the interaction is about .but
not all interactivity is perfect for example 360 tour for the national marine aquarium , the
game that I had played based of choices had no visual aid or sound effects just
music
The short animations had a lack of interesting points the kiosks
only show the beginning sections or demo and so on but these helpfully will improve in the future
In my opinion digital media is better than traditional media because it requires less materials to create, it is better for the environment, includes interactivity, includes sound.
for example to create a traditional media it would take more pages to print costing more money and travel time than it would digitally , the trees it would take to make the paper to be able to print the transportation for the lumber mill to the place to make the paper from there to the printing location from the printing location to the stores and in ll that time it could take it would be much more expensive in terms of money , time and environmentally.
another advantage to the digital media is for example adding sound and interactivity such as on a classic traditional comic it would "say wwwwwwhhhaaccckkk" when in the digital versions it will be able to animate it as well as adding the sound to the motion. adding interactivity could be as simple as going back a page or as complex as making the character maker the motion or even you make the choices in the characters situation

Task 2: Ideas Generation
This is our idea to be able to inform people about the stories of the animals from the national marine aquarium. The idea is to tell the stories of a shark that is afraid of the dark, the octopus that chose his name and the turtle that was washed up on the shores of Devon.

The main menu will have the title of the games series , description of the game and the animals themselves.
The idea is when you click on an animal a description page will pop up, this will tell you about the animal and after you have read the description, you click on the animal and it takes you to the game.
You will play as the octopus and you will have to find his real name in the jars and you have to say if it’s right.

You will play as the turtle that was washed up on the shores in Devon who is partially blind and you have to avoid pieces on floating plastic in order to prevent starving in the ocean .
You will play as the shark and you have to follow a sequence of buttons to make the lights turn on to stop the shark from going mad. and the order will be random
You will play as the octopus and you will have to find his real name in the jars and you have found it it will go to a celebration scene

Client Contact notes
Presentation

Client contact notes
We had presented our ideas to the client and we had been given feedback. she like our idea but she had felt that our idea for our turtle game was good however she wanted to have levels rather than instant end and wanted to add a live system to fix the instant end situation and add jelly fish to attempt to add health /lives in order to make the game last longer

The screen size for the website
1024x600
brief notes on preview
we need sounds for ; for buttons on shark game, eating sounds for turtle game and ambience.
the turtle game needs instructions for users
correct/ Improve the text
create a height limit for jellyfish and plastic bags on turtle game
make the shark game buttons last longer
make play button smaller on the turtle game
rearrange lives, levels and scores on turtle game
make all buttons the same size on all of the games
make the octopus game more difficult
make the text more clear on the scrolls on octopus game
add a 'Try again' button in octopus game
after receiving these notes from our client, we made the amendment to improve the game.

Task 4 :Production Documentation
i started before we had your client presentation we were so eager to have our best idea to work we had started straight way hoping with something to show the client so I had started with looking at a turtorial on how to make a helicopter game
after watching this video i had decided that we were going to make 1 our selves as 1 of our groups 3 games we were going to make
after our client notes from the presentation I had taken advice to change the game that we had already made
slightly the changes that was made was more than expected we effectively had to redo all the scripting only a little of what we had had to be redone but after doing so we had turned a 1 stat screen into a 3 stat's screen which were now score, level and lives and how the score is added now it was collect as many jellyfish as you can. we also had a play button added this had taken around 3-4 weeks
after completing the turtle game i had started on the shark game "lights out " originally we started with an idea to have a panic bar however after discussing with my team we had came to the conclusion that we would not add it and turn the game into a simon says game we had to separate the game by doing different sections we had tom do the graphics for this game and Matteo doing the graphics for the octopus game whilst Tom was doing the graphics I was sorting out the code with place holders as you can see above the graphics we had early was the buttons from the presentation this had taken around 2 weeks to make this game
with 3 weeks left we got worried because we forgot to have sound so whilst Matteo had searched for the sounds I had started on the octopus game and tom had also helped Matteo and then i swapped all the the graphics for the placeholders we got it all done at the last second
then we had a client preview which i will talk about after
Task6 :Evaluation report
Evaluation
When we had started the project we had a tour around the aquarium and the had said that they are a charity and when they started talking about something they wanted us to create our project for we had decided that it would be best to focus on the "umbrella" species which are the species of fish that are huge attention catchers and when we was generating our ideas we had used sky blue thinking as a our way to generate and develop our ideas and then we ended up with the idea to be able to create 3 small flash games
and we had looked at our strengths and mine was in scripting. we had decided that it was best to have a game in a helicopter style game soon as they are quite a popular flash style game and memory game
and a guess game
we looked at the brief and we saw that we needed a time plan and Matteo was given the role as leader however we didn't really need a leader soon as all our decisions were made together anyway
what I had done for the project may sound smaller than it is but what I had done was scripting for all the games and placed them together. I admit I had a lot of help from the tutor but that was due to how difficult it is to script without messing up the entire game the scripting for the turtle game was good however due to the client feedback the majority of the script had to be changed in order to fit the clients description.
we didn't have any copy right problems due to them either being copyright free resources or we had taken the images ourselves we had good team communication due to constantly make decisions and discussing them with the rest of the group for example i would ask if i have the right number of bags coming in on the screen or not enough or even if they were moving to fast.
as a finished product I think that our games are good for the reason it fits all the description of the clients desire as well as being easy to use providing facts a guide on how to play the game the sounds help play the game cause it makes the actions more clear for example when ever the turtle eats something it will make a "chomping sound " as well as the buttons on the shark game to help the player remember what buttons it was activated
